[/thb_toggle] [thb_toggle title=”Synopsis”]

The language of ties

Théâtre Organic and Los Afinados present

[thb_toggle title=”Synopsis”]

« Three singular and burlesque characters, in their own way, will go through the absurd and competitive universe of the world of work. Everything starts in the minimalist setting of a white room where a catchy music is broadcasted and where those three characters will be left to their own devices in an endless wait. Who are they? Why are they here? Why nobody takes care of them? What’s going to happen and how long can they support this situation? »

In society everyone wears a mask, a costume, a «tie» and it’s truer in the world of work, where we spend the most important part of our time. The first idea of this project was to start working from typical behaviors, codes and languages that the human being uses in his professional environment, and to provoke a singular and burlesque situation to progressively unmask them, make them «take of the tie » and reveal the humanity, the weaknesses and the poetry that anyone possess and which all of us want to hide.

« As every night, in this town, like every other towns (…) the girl will play her little story, will do faces, skilled to do faces, will hum little song and will strike a little dancing pose. As every night, in this town like every other towns, she will tell the end of the awful day, the end of the painful day, tale of the various humiliations and vagaries.» Jean-Luc Lagarce

[thb_toggle title=”Synopsis”]

On old tunes of Argentine tango and some milonga steps, in the intimacy of an old cabaret The girl and the two boys will make their sideshow. However this night, is not like every other nights; while they protect themselves beneath dignified enough dance steps, they contemplate the loss of control of their destiny… This night, that’s their artist lives they tell, life at all costs, with or without audience.

One night, outside the train station of Besançon (Doubs), I’ve seen under the snow, carrying his luggage and abandoning the idea to find a cab, the singer Ringo Willy Cat moved away, this guy married with the singer Sheila, she was a star, as we said, he sang with her when they married, “Laisse les gondoles à Venise…” – my brother and I, knew the chorus by heart – and coming for two nights, a Friday and a Saturday, to sing his old hits in this striptease club in this cold town in the east of France. The ceiling was so low – I don’t remember – the ceiling was so low the actress renounced to put her high-heel shoes afraid to touch the lights with her tortuous chignon. Behind the curtain, one time, and the subject was also about the actors, a female singer dissolved into tears, immediately the curtain fell and all the audience heard her and burst out laughing. The Dumb Waiter

[thb_toggle title=”Synopsis”]

In an airless basement room, two killers await confirmation of the identity of their next “hit”. They are a team from way back. Today something has disturbed their normally efficient routine. Unseen forces bear down on them in their precarious and darkly funny world. Meanwhile, increasingly bizarre orders keep arriving via a serving hatch.

This dumbwaiter quickly becomes the third character of this story, an authority figure without face but with endless demands impossible to fulfill. It makes grow the anxiety, the doubt and the questions of the characters, until the circumstances become unbearable.

With aspects from a writing so-called “Absurd”, it’s talking about our society: we never know who is hidden beneath orders and decisions.

Impro… methodology of the theatrical creation

savignons

From October 24 to October 28, 2011.

Led by

Marcelo SAVIGNONE
(Teatro Belisario/ Argentine).
[thb_two_thirds]

From the basic technics of improvisation, this workshop offers to participants a way to experiment and evaluate the different performance abilities and dynamics that allow nurturing and developing a theatrical situation.  How to create endless possibilities for the construction of a scene? From simple constraints, the improviser becomes a true instrument of the theatrical creation developing the situations in the now and here. The purpose of this workshop is to refine the availability of the actor in his creation work, to help him to develop a ludic body, to stimulate his own creativity and his capacity to open himself and to associate ideas in the situations he creates.

From tango to actor’s performance: body, complicity and play’s tensions

litvaks

From October 24 to October 28, 2011.

Led by

Veronica Litvak
(Tango Protesta /Argentine)

[thb_two_thirds]

The Tango as a tool of performance for the actor allows in a ludic way to work on complicity and the sense of hearing through dance, as a fluent dialog, harmonious, that lays the foundation of the performance between two bodies. Through the music and the body language, an impromptu and spontaneous dance is created. This dance already tells a story, the story of two bodies that discover and learn themselves. As well, it’s a group work even if the tango is a dance for two people; dancers share a grupal experience in a same physical and musical space. In the end what interest us, it’s not to execute perfectly the steps of tango but find in ourselves and with the partner a personal dance that allows to the actors to live physically the sensation to perform together.

Schedules from Monday to Friday (10 hours of training).

With fewer words

federman

From October 10 to October 14, 2011.

Led by

Enrique FEDERMAN
(Argentine).
[thb_two_thirds]

This workshop offers exploring new expressive tools and learning how to use them better on stage.
It doesn’t mean minimizing the importance of the text or the word in the actor’s performance but limiting its use to create other means of expression. For this, we will give the word the same status as other tools, as an additional language to serve the actor’s performance.
During the work we will use tools as silences, gesture economy, ellipses, whispers, searching postures and how to fill space while creating theater scenes.

Theatricality of movement

ymarc2

From September 26 to October 07, 2011.

Led by

Yves MARC
(Théâtre du mouvement / France).
[thb_two_thirds]

Objective: Find and develop possible drama vocabularies and dimensions of the movement to lean on for the acting. We will put our attention to the observation of corporal manifestations of though states.  “What do people’s bodies when they think?” The parameters composing and involving those states will be analyzed and experimented: the look (focal and orientation), the breath, the dynamism, the posture (corporal contradictions), auto-contacts. From improvisation games and situation scenario, we will develop theatrical movements variations to the fiction and the creativity.
