« Ils ne mouraient plus… mais étaient-ils encore vivants ? », c’est l’histoire d’une famille argentine, de la Mama, mère âgée, handicapée et radoteuse, chargée de souvenirs, ceux de sa vie d’avant, avant la chaise roulante, avant les pertes de mémoire, avant les douleurs chroniques, avant la dépendance. La Mama et ses trois enfants, Ernesto, Mario et Ana, qui à court de solutions pour prendre soin d’elle et lui assurer une fin de vie décente, planifient de la supprimer…

Conte cruel, la pièce, par le biais de l’humour noir, du burlesque et d’un ton argentin très direct et incisif met en jeu un drame actuel social et humain. Les multiples tentatives d’assassinat et leurs échecs successifs, agissent comme des révélateurs des rapports que chaque personnage entretient avec la vieillesse. 

Les vieux, les vioques, les seniors, les gâteux, les anciens, les grisons, les aînés, les retraités, les ancêtres, les doyens, les croulants, les vétérans, les vieillards, les personnes âgées, les personnes dépendantes… peu importe l’appellation, la vieillesse nous renvoie à notre propre devenir, elle est toujours associée à la perte, aux dégradations, aux déficiences, à la dépendance, au temps qui passe et ne se rattrape guère. Plus effrayant que la mort elle-même, vieillir effraie une société exclusivement vouée au culte de la performance, à l’hyper productivité, à l’hyper rentabilité, envoûtée par l’illusion d’une jeunesse éternelle. Penser nos vieux non seulement comme des objets de consommation périmés, tout juste bons pour la casse, mais plus encore comme des poids que l’on doit traîner dans notre course effrénée à la réussite, des « empêcheurs de vie » qui nous feront rater la notre si nous n’arrivons pas à nous en délester, c’est le postulat provocateur, aussi drôle et noir, qu’extrême de cette pièce.

« Three singular and burlesque characters, in their own way, will go through the absurd and competitive universe of the world of work. Everything starts in the minimalist setting of a white room where a catchy music is broadcasted and where those three characters will be left to their own devices in an endless wait. Who are they? Why are they here? Why nobody takes care of them? What’s going to happen and how long can they support this situation? »

In society everyone wears a mask, a costume, a «tie» and it’s truer in the world of work, where we spend the most important part of our time. The first idea of this project was to start working from typical behaviors, codes and languages that the human being uses in his professional environment, and to provoke a singular and burlesque situation to progressively unmask them, make them «take of the tie » and reveal the humanity, the weaknesses and the poetry that anyone possess and which all of us want to hide.

Los Afinados is a French, Spanish, Catalan and Argentinean colective, gather around a same artistic language of burlesque and physical theater. Sophie Gazel, Pablo Contestabile met Sergi Estebannel in 2001 in France during the creation of “Où va la lumière quand il fait noir?” a clown show they toured in diferent regions in France and spain (Barcelona, Madrid, Galicia, Ibiza, Avignon, Hyères…). In 2011 the group re-forms ang grews up with the arrival of Judit Martin to create “Le langage des cravates”.

On old tunes of Argentine tango and some milonga steps, in the intimacy of an old cabaret The girl and the two boys will make their sideshow. However this night, is not like every other nights; while they protect themselves beneath dignified enough dance steps, they contemplate the loss of control of their destiny… This night, that’s their artist lives they tell, life at all costs, with or without audience.

One night, outside the train station of Besançon (Doubs), I’ve seen under the snow, carrying his luggage and abandoning the idea to find a cab, the singer Ringo Willy Cat moved away, this guy married with the singer Sheila, she was a star, as we said, he sang with her when they married, “Laisse les gondoles à Venise…” – my brother and I, knew the chorus by heart – and coming for two nights, a Friday and a Saturday, to sing his old hits in this striptease club in this cold town in the east of France. The ceiling was so low – I don’t remember – the ceiling was so low the actress renounced to put her high-heel shoes afraid to touch the lights with her tortuous chignon. Behind the curtain, one time, and the subject was also about the actors, a female singer dissolved into tears, immediately the curtain fell and all the audience heard her and burst out laughing. In an airless basement room, two killers await confirmation of the identity of their next “hit”. They are a team from way back. Today something has disturbed their normally efficient routine. Unseen forces bear down on them in their precarious and darkly funny world. Meanwhile, increasingly bizarre orders keep arriving via a serving hatch.

This dumbwaiter quickly becomes the third character of this story, an authority figure without face but with endless demands impossible to fulfill. It makes grow the anxiety, the doubt and the questions of the characters, until the circumstances become unbearable.

With aspects from a writing so-called “Absurd”, it’s talking about our society: we never know who is hidden beneath orders and decisions.

COMÉDIE FÉROCE ET DÉCALÉE – Pour toute la famille et séniors avertis.

« Ils ne mouraient plus… mais étaient-ils encore vivants ? » dresse le portrait drôle et cinglant d’une famille argentine en proie au drame de la dépendance. C’est l’histoire d’une vieille mère handicapée, radoteuse et malade de tout ou presque mais qui n’en finit jamais de mourir. L’histoire de ses enfants, Ernesto, Ana et Mario, désemparés et ruinés, qui à court de solutions pour s’occuper d’elle, élaborent des plans plus improbables les uns que les autres pour s’en débarrasser… Une histoire qui de fil en aiguille, nous provoque et nous amène à réfléchir à ces deux questions : Quelle humanité voulons-nous être ? Et quelle société sommes-nous pour ne plus savoir quoi faire de nos vieux?

Conférence de Daniel Dalmaroni « Panorama choisi de la dramaturgie argentine contemporaine : le drame d’écrire du théâtre » et lectures de textes argentins par l’équipe de « Ils ne mouraient plus… mais étaient-ils encore vivants ? » 

Daniel Dalmaroni nous donnera un aperçu de la dramaturgie argentine contemporaine et nous présentera quelques textes choisis parmi la nouvelle génération d’auteurs argentins et lus par les comédiens du spectacle “Ils ne mouraient-plus mais étaient-ils encore vivants?”.

Daniel Dalmaroni est né à la Plata (Argentine) en mai 1961. Il vit et travaille à Buenos Aires. Il a 15 ans en 1976 quand débute la dictature argentine, dictature dont il ne ressortira pas indemne comme on peut s’en douter. Il affirme que le théâtre l’a empêché de se convertir en un tueur en série. L’apparente simplicité de sa dramaturgie produit un effet à retardement sur le lecteur, un effet dévastateur au milieu d’un rire nerveux. Malgré des situations ténébreuses et un regard sarcastique sur le monde, le théâtre de Dalmaroni est extrêmement drôle et accessible. Le lecteur/spectateur rit puis finit par se demander qu’est-ce qu’il y a de si drôle dans ce miroir féroce et sombre qui lui est tendu ? Ses œuvres sont traduites en anglais et en portugais. Parmi les plus célèbres : « New York », « Una tragedia argentina », « Maté a un tipo », « Cuando te mueras del todo », « El secuestro de Isabelita », « Los Opas »… Ses pièces ont été jouées en Argentine, au Brésil, en Uruguay, en Equateur et en Espagne.

Tango de Prepo présente : “Nocturno Buenos Aires”

Né à la fin du XIXème siècle, dans les bas-fonds de Buenos Aires, le tango c’est l’âme du peuple argentin, la fusion d’influences et de cultures des nombreux immigrants européens, des descendants des esclaves africains et des natifs de la région du Río de la Plata.

Mélancolie et passion sont les principaux moteurs de cette musique intense et envoutante. Le tango raconte des tranches de vie, on chante et on raconte une histoire, celle des hommes, avec ses accents dramatiques et passionnés, avec ses thèmes récurrents qui sont l’amour et ses déchirements et les témoignages de la misère humaine.

TANGO DE PREPO vous convie à un répertoire musical riche et poétique, avec les plus grands compositeurs et auteurs du tango Piazzola, Manzi, Troilo, Cobián, Borges, Dames, Castillo, Cadicamo, Stamponi, Exposito, Piana, Gardel, Le Pera… un répertoire choisi minutieusement par Pablo Contestabile et arrangé par Gabriel Vallejo.

Atchalaï présente : « voyage au cœur des terres argentines »

« Atchalaï : est la transcription phonétique en français de l’interjection “Achalay!” d’origine quechua, utilisée dans le folklore argentin pour exprimer son admiration, son contentement pour quelque chose. »

C’est donc avec un enthousiasme revendiqué, que Pablo Contestabile (chant), Bertrand Hardel (guitare), Nathalie Yulzari (Violoncelle) et Coline Verger (violon) vous invitent à découvrir un répertoire de musiques argentines composé de différents styles appartenant au folklore, des rythmes et des danses originaires de différentes provinces et régions d’Argentine, comme la Zamba et la Chacarera (Nord-ouest de l’Argentine) ou encore le Chamamé et le Rasguido doble (Corrientes).

D’une richesse mélodique très variée, Atchalaï propose un mélange de chansons douces, lentes et nostalgiques (comme le sont les zambas, certains tangos et milongas camperas) et d’autres plus rythmées et festives (chacarera, chamamé). Pour constituer le répertoire d’Atchalaï, nos choix se sont arrêtés sur des chansons écrites et composées par les grands noms de la musique argentine comme Atahualpa Yupanqui, Astor Piazzola, Homero Espósito, Armando Pontier, Ariel Ramírez, Ramón Ayala, Roberto Ternán, El Cuti Carabajal, Jorge Luis Borges, José María Contursi, Mariano Mores, Homero Manzi, Aníbal Troilo, Cristóforo Juárez, María Helena Espiro et Raly Barrionuevo.

Bel conte présente : «Latino»

Bel conte c’est la rencontre de deux musiciens argentins et d’un musicien brésilien pour faire vibrer les différentes voix, rythmes et couleurs de la musique latino-américaine. Une musique qui transpire la joie de vivre, la douceur, la chaleur humaine, les émotions à fleur de peau et la fraternité…

Nous reprenons pour ce concert les morceaux des grands compositeurs et poètes des pays de l’Amérique Centrale et de l’Amérique du Sud en passant par Le Brésil, la Colombie, Le Venezuela, Cuba, Le Mexique et l’Argentine.

Bel conte c’est une histoire d’amitié, la rencontre dans les années 90 de Matias Chébél et Pablo Contestabile à Buenos Aires… Tous deux installés en France dans les années 2000, ils se produisent pour la première fois au Festival d’Avignon en 2002 avec le concert « L’Argentine dans le Creux de l’Oreille », Pablo Contestabile et Matias Chebel invitent cette fois-ci le musicien brésilien Carlos Bernardo Carneiro Da Cunha dont l’étendue de son talent est à la mesure de la longueur de son nom ! Chantées à deux voix, les chansons seront accompagnées par la guitare, l’accordéon, le mélodica et des percussions.

Musiciens : Matias Chebel (voix et percussions), Pablo Contestabile (chant, accordéon, mélodica) et Carlos Bernardo (guitare).
